A 15-week elite Musical Theatre training cohort for committed teen performers (ages 14–18).
Designed for young artists who want to grow beyond private lessons, The MT Studio Lab blends advanced vocal technique, acting through song, ensemble work, and artistic exploration to build confident, expressive Musical Theatre performers.
Students train in a collaborative, supportive environment where technique, creativity, and storytelling come together and where each performer is guided to step into their fullest artistic potential.
What Is The MT Studio Lab?
The MT Studio Lab is a selective, semester-long Musical Theatre program at Ziegenfuss Voice Studio. It provides a comprehensive MT experience for teens who are ready for a higher level of training and artistic development.
Through a blend of weekly group training and monthly one-on-one coaching sessions, students develop:
Strong, healthy functional voice technique
Deeper acting and storytelling skills
Ensemble singing ability (blend, harmony, style)
Confidence and presence on stage
A broad understanding of MT styles and genres
Performance skills through labs & a final showcase
This program also serves as a pathway into future advanced offerings, including the upcoming ZVS Performing Arts Academy
Tuition & Payment Plan
Founding Cohort Tuition: $1,350
(Full program value: $1,500 — Spring 2026 only)
Payment Plan:
5 monthly payments of $270 (January–May)
January 5th – May 23rd, 2026
15 total class sessions
2 weeks off (aligned with local school breaks)
3 built-in makeup class dates
(reserved for illness, inclement weather, or unavoidable cancellations)

Program Dates
Vocal Technique for Musical Theatre
Breath, resonance, mix, belt, legit, registration, and acoustic strategies for MT repertoire.
Acting Through Song + MT Storytelling
Lyric analysis, character work, interpretation, phrasing, movement, and emotional truth.
Ensemble Singing & Harmonization
Students learn, rehearse, and perform an ensemble number selected specifically for the cohort.
Performance Labs
Ongoing performance coaching in a supportive, small-group setting.
Audition Skills (Mini-Module)
A focused 2-week unit on:
Choosing effective cuts
Slating
Room presence
Mini mock audition experience
Alexander Technique for Performers
Tension release, breath coordination, alignment, and performance ease.
What Students Will Learn
Weekly Group Lab
Wednesdays at 4:30 PM
January 5 – May 23, 2026
5 total group sessions, plus 2 off-weeks and 3 built-in makeup dates.
Each session blends technique, acting, ensemble work, and performance coaching.
Monthly Private Coaching (5 sessions)
Each student receives a 20-minute one-on-one coaching session every month focused on:
Vocal technique
Repertoire development
Acting integration
Performance refinement
Showcase preparation
These check-ins ensure individualized growth within the group environment.
Guest Artist Masterclass
A visiting Musical Theatre educator or performer joins the cohort for a dedicated masterclass experience.
Final Showcase
The semester culminates in a studio showcase featuring:
Two polished solo pieces
One ensemble number
A celebration of the cohort’s artistic growth
Parents and family members are invited to attend.
Program Structure
The MT Studio Lab is ideal for teens who:

Want to improve their singing, acting, and stage presence
Are preparing for advanced training or future Academy-level study
College audition interest is not required.
Students of all experience levels (within the 14–18 age range) are welcome to apply as long as they meet basic vocal readiness.
